DJI Matrice 300 Series Upward Gimbal Connector

The DJI Matrice 300 Series Upward Gimbal Connector is a mounting accessory compatible with the DJI Matrice 300 RTK and Matrice 350 RTK aircraft. It allows a compatible gimbal or payload to be fitted above the drone instead of in the standard downward-facing position, giving an unobstructed upward view when the subject is above the aircraft. The connector weighs 121 g, which is worth noting when calculating the additional mass on the flight platform. Its role is to position a payload within a compatible DJI enterprise system; it is not intended for standalone image capture.

The connector provides a USB-C interface with support for PSDK and OSDK connections. When paired with a suitable protection-rated payload, the resulting installation can achieve IP44 protection. That rating applies to the combined setup, so the choice of payload directly determines the level of protection achieved. As a mounting component, the connector still requires a suitable gimbal or payload to carry out imaging or data collection. The top-mounted format is designed for specialised aerial work where a conventional downward view would not cover the subject area.
