The StarTech.com ICUSB234858I is an 8-port industrial USB 2.0 to RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial hub that connects legacy serial equipment to modern computers. Designed for industrial automation, this hub expands a single host interface into eight serial ports. It supports RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 protocols for direct communication with industrial sensors, barcode scanners, and control systems. The unit supports serial data transfer rates of up to 0.9216 Mbit/s to maintain consistent communication with older hardware. Its metal housing protects internal components in manufacturing and server room environments.
