The CORSAIR iCUE 4000D RGB Airflow is a mid-tower ATX case designed with a focus on thermal performance. It features a high-airflow steel front panel optimized for substantial air intake. The chassis comes pre-installed with three 120mm AF120 RGB ELITE PWM fans, which utilize AirGuide technology to concentrate airflow. This configuration provides a baseline for cooling high-performance components, with extensive support for additional fans or liquid cooling radiators, including front mounts for up to 360mm and top mounts for up to 280mm.

The internal layout is structured for a clean and accessible build process. It incorporates the CORSAIR RapidRoute cable management system, providing 25mm of space behind the motherboard tray along with dedicated channels and tie-downs. The case accommodates a range of hardware, supporting motherboards up to E-ATX, CPU coolers with a maximum height of 170mm, and a total of nine expansion slots. The front I/O panel includes a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and a combination audio jack. An included iCUE Lighting Node PRO controller enables software control for the integrated RGB lighting.
