The JBL Tune 720BT is an over-ear headphone model equipped with 40 mm dynamic drivers, which cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. It connects to audio sources primarily using Bluetooth 5.3 technology, which supports multipoint pairing for switching between two devices. For instances where a wireless connection is unavailable or the battery is depleted, a detachable audio cable is included to establish a direct wired connection. The sound profile can be modified via the equalizer function in the JBL Headphones mobile application.

The integrated battery provides up to 76 hours of continuous audio playback on a full charge, which takes 2 hours via the USB-C port. A fast-charge feature adds 3 hours of playback time from a 5-minute charge. These headphones weigh 220 g and incorporate a foldable design for storage and transport. Physical buttons located on the earcup allow for control over volume, music playback, and call management. A fixed microphone is built into the headset for voice calls.
