The Optoma 4K400X is a standard throw projector that utilizes DLP technology to produce a native UHD 4K (3840x2160) resolution image. With a brightness rating of 4000 ANSI lumens, it is designed to operate in environments with some ambient light. The projector features a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, which contributes to image depth and detail in dark scenes. It supports High Dynamic Range content through compatibility with both HDR10 and HLG standards, rendering a wider range of colors and brightness levels from compatible sources.

For connectivity, the device is equipped with two HDMI 2.0 ports that support HDCP 2.2 for connecting to modern 4K video sources. A USB Type-A port is included to provide 5V power, which is suitable for operating streaming media players. Audio capabilities are handled by a single 10-watt built-in speaker, and a 3.5 mm headphone output allows for connection to external sound systems or headphones. The projector is also capable of displaying 3D content when used with compatible sources and eyewear.
