The Micron 6500 ION is a solid-state drive engineered for enterprise data center applications requiring high-density storage. With a capacity of 30.7 TB in a 2.5-inch form factor, it is designed for workloads such as AI data lakes, large-scale object stores, and cloud infrastructure. The drive utilizes a U.3 interface, which operates on the NVMe 2.0 protocol over PCIe x4 lanes to facilitate high-speed data transfer between the drive and the host system.

This SSD delivers sequential read speeds up to 6800 MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 5000 MB/s. For random workloads, it achieves up to 1,000,000 read IOPS and 200,000 write IOPS, making it suitable for NoSQL databases and content delivery networks. Reliability is addressed with a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) rating of 2.5 million hours and an endurance rating of 1 Drive Write Per Day (DWPD).
