The ASUS ExpertWiFi EBM68 is a dual-unit tri-band mesh system utilizing Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standards designed for widespread coverage across homes or small office environments. This system operates across one 2.4 GHz band and two distinct 5 GHz bands, a configuration intended to maximize throughput and minimize network congestion. The maximum combined wireless transfer rate is specified at up to 7800 Mbit/s, with the high-speed 5 GHz band serving as a dedicated wireless backhaul link between the two nodes.

Each EBM68 unit is equipped with three Gigabit Ethernet ports, supporting flexible network topologies including both WAN and LAN configuration. Internal hardware features a 1700 MHz processor, supported by 1000 MB of internal memory, designed to maintain responsive performance under heavy network loads. Six integrated internal antennas leverage MU-MIMO and Beamforming technology, optimizing signal delivery specifically to connected client devices throughout the claimed 600 m² coverage area.

The EBM68 incorporates WPA3 security protocols and Adaptive QoS management for traffic prioritization and network control. Additional utility is provided by a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port on each unit, allowing for the connection of external storage devices or compatibility with 3G/4G modems. System configuration and firmware updates are managed via a dedicated web-based interface or the ASUSWRT application platform.
