The ASUS ExpertWiFi EBM68 is a tri-band mesh router utilizing the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard for high-capacity networking. It delivers data transfer rates of 574 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band, 2402 Mbit/s on the first 5 GHz band, and 4804 Mbit/s on the second 5 GHz band, resulting in a maximum combined Wi-Fi speed of 4804 Mbit/s. The unit features six internal antennas and 1024-QAM modulation to optimize signal efficiency across the network. Integrated MU-MIMO and beamforming technologies allow the system to provide consistent connectivity for up to 100 concurrent devices.

Connectivity options consist of one dedicated Ethernet WAN port and three Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports for wired device integration. A single USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port is included, supporting Samba storage and 3G/4G USB modem failover capabilities. Network security is handled by WPA3-Personal and WPA2-Enterprise protocols, supplemented by a hardware firewall, URL filtering, and parental controls. Management is conducted via a web-based interface, offering support for VPN server and client configurations including WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IPSec, as well as tagged VLAN for traffic separation.
