The Sandberg USB 3.2 Cloner & Dock functions as a dual-purpose storage accessory for connecting internal drives to a workstation. It features two bays that support one 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD and one M.2 NVMe SSD in standard lengths from 2230 to 2280. The device facilitates offline bit-for-bit cloning between the two supported drive types without requiring a host computer or specialized software. A maximum total storage capacity of 24 TB is supported, making it suitable for high-capacity data migrations.

Data transfers occur over a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, providing theoretical speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s via the included 0.8-meter USB-C cable. The hardware is built around the JMS581D chipset and includes a dedicated on/off switch alongside an external 12V power source. Integrated LED indicators display the status of power, active data access, and the incremental progress of cloning operations. This docking station is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux systems and supports hotswapping for efficient drive management.
