The GoPro HERO12 Black Action Camera is a compact device built for recording action sports and outdoor activities. It uses a 27 MP CMOS sensor and a fixed wide-angle lens with an f/2.5 aperture. The camera records up to 5.3K at 60 frames per second, alongside 4K120 and 2.7K240 modes for slow motion. HDR capture and support for 8:7, 16:9, and 9:16 aspect ratios provide framing flexibility across different platforms. HyperSmooth 6.0 image stabilisation reduces camera shake, while Horizon Lock keeps the horizon level during movement. Still photos reach 5568 × 4872 pixels in JPEG and RAW formats.

Its rugged body is waterproof to 10 metres without a separate housing. A 2.27-inch rear touchscreen LCD and a front colour display assist with framing from multiple angles. Built-in three-microphone processing records audio in WAV format, and the device includes voice control. Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 with Low Energy support handle wireless connectivity and smartphone pairing. An Enduro rechargeable battery with a 1720 mAh capacity provides up to 2.5 hours of operating time. Video is saved to microSD cards using H.265 compression, and charging is handled by a USB Type-C port. The camera is compatible with the GoPro Media Mod, Max Lens Mod 2.0, Volta, and The Remote accessories.
