The HYTE Y40 is a mid-tower ATX case constructed from steel, ABS plastic, and tempered glass. Its design features a two-piece panoramic glass side panel that provides an unobstructed view of internal components. The case is engineered exclusively for vertical GPU mounting and includes the necessary PCIe 4.0 riser cable for installation. It supports a range of motherboard sizes and offers substantial component clearance, accommodating CPU coolers up to 183 mm in height.

Thermal management is handled by multiple mounting locations for fans and liquid cooling radiators. The top panel supports up to a 360 mm radiator, the side can hold a 280 mm radiator, and the rear fits a 120 mm unit. Two 120 mm fans are pre-installed—one at the bottom for intake and one at the rear for exhaust—to establish a baseline airflow path. Removable dust filters are included to help maintain a clean interior, and integrated channels assist with organizing internal cables.
