The Makita DDF487RAJ 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Drill/Driver Kit provides rotational force for drilling and fastening in wood and steel. It uses a brushless motor to deliver consistent power without the need for regular brush replacement. A two-speed gearbox lets the operator choose between 500 RPM in low gear and 1700 RPM in high gear. The mechanical clutch has 20 settings to control screwdriving depth, with a maximum torque of 40 N·m for hard applications and 25 N·m for soft ones. Maximum drilling capacities are 36 mm in wood and 13 mm in steel.

A 1.5–13 mm quick-release keyless chuck holds accessories without the need for additional hand tools. Power comes from two 18V 2.0Ah lithium-ion batteries, which charge fully in 24 minutes using the included fast charger. The drill features Makita XPT construction for protection against dust and water ingress. A built-in light improves visibility in enclosed spaces, and a reverse function helps with hardware removal. The drill weighs 1600 g with the battery attached and has a soft-grip handle and belt hook for easier handling. All components are supplied in a rigid Makpac carrying case.
