The Bosch D-tect 120 Professional Wall Scanner is a detection tool for locating objects concealed behind walls before drilling or cutting. It identifies magnetic and non-magnetic metals, wooden studs, water-filled plastic pipes, and live or dead electrical wires to reduce the risk of damaging hidden infrastructure. The scanner detects these materials to a maximum depth of 120 mm with an accuracy of 10 mm, making it suitable for construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, renovation, and installation work. A spot measurement mode accommodates narrow surfaces for targeted scanning, and the centre finder function pinpoints the exact centre of a detected object for more accurate marking.

Dual-power technology allows the device to run on a 12 V lithium-ion battery or four standard 1.5 V AA batteries, ensuring continuous operation when one power source is unavailable or depleted. The unit provides visual and acoustic warnings when hidden infrastructure is detected. It weighs 500 g for comfortable handling during extended overhead use, and measures 92 × 85 × 206 mm, fitting easily into standard tool pouches.
