The ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 mesh system is a two-unit network solution utilizing the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard, designed for extensive home coverage. This system operates across four distinct frequency bands: 2.4 GHz, two separate 5 GHz bands, and the high-speed 6 GHz band, ensuring maximum bandwidth allocation. The system is rated to provide seamless network coverage across physical spaces up to 900 square meters when both units are deployed. The 6 GHz band delivers a maximum theoretical data transfer rate of 11529 Mbit/s.

Each unit incorporates a quad-core 2600 MHz processor and 2048 MB of internal memory to manage high traffic volumes and numerous concurrent device connections. Wired connectivity includes three RJ-45 LAN ports supporting both 1 Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet data rates. The units feature 12 internal antennas, integrating Beamforming and MU-MIMO technology to stabilize signal directionality and enhance capacity for multiple streaming devices.

Network security is maintained through WPA3 encryption and built-in firewall functionalities, including DoS attack prevention and parental control filtering features. Management is accessible via a web interface or a dedicated mobile application, supporting QoS for traffic prioritization. The system also supports extensive VPN protocols, enabling both client and server functionality for protocols including IPSec, OpenVPN, PPTP, and WireGuard.
