The Asus ZenWiFi BQ16 mesh system utilizes quad-band technology to manage wireless traffic across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequencies. It implements 4096-QAM modulation and Multi-Link Operation to optimize data density and link efficiency across the network. Wireless throughput reaches up to 1,376 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 5,764 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. This system supports MU-MIMO and beamforming to maintain signal stability across multiple simultaneous connections in large residential or small office environments.

Wired interfaces consist of five RJ-45 ports with 10 Gigabit and Gigabit Ethernet speeds for WAN and LAN connections. Management is handled through a web-based interface providing tools for URL filtering, guest network isolation, and WPA3 security encryption. The physical design features a desktop placement with a white plastic housing measuring 174 mm by 214 mm per unit. Power is supplied via an external AC adapter, and the system supports 3G/4G USB modem compatibility for alternative internet connectivity when required.
