The Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Gateway Max (UCG-MAX) is a compact network appliance that provides routing, firewall protection, and network management. It manages local network traffic and includes a dedicated Ethernet WAN port. The device supports 2.5 GbE networking alongside standard 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds. Integrated video recording allows for direct management of surveillance footage. The unit is powered via USB-C, drawing a maximum of 16.1 W. As it lacks built-in Wi-Fi and Power over Ethernet (PoE), it requires a separate power source and external access points for wireless coverage.

The gateway is housed in a compact white polycarbonate casing. Administrators can configure settings locally via a web interface or remotely through cloud management. Security features include an application-aware firewall and automated IDS/IPS threat detection. Traffic management options include VLAN tagging, QoS prioritization, and a DHCP server for client address allocation. Bluetooth connectivity simplifies initial provisioning, and an integrated display shows real-time system metrics. LED indicators provide status for LAN activity and data transmission.
