The Synology RackStation SA3610 12-Bay 2U NAS is a rack-mounted storage solution designed for small and medium-sized businesses. It is powered by a 12-core Intel Xeon D-1567 processor (2.1 GHz) for data-intensive workloads. The system includes 12 drive bays that accommodate both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives. These bays are hot-swappable, allowing for drive replacement without interrupting system availability. Connectivity is provided through seven RJ45 Ethernet ports, supporting data rates up to 10,000 Mbit/s. This configuration is primarily intended for centralized backups and high-capacity file sharing.

The system comes with 16 GB of DDR4 ECC memory, which detects and corrects data errors to maintain stability. Four memory slots allow for expansion up to 128 GB as requirements grow. The chassis features a built-in 550 W power supply and four 80 mm cooling fans to manage internal temperatures. For hardware expansion, two PCIe x8 Gen 3 slots are available for network interface cards. The unit supports multiple RAID levels, including RAID F1, which is optimized for flash-based storage. Users can perform online RAID migration and expansion to modify storage volumes without downtime. Management is handled via the DiskStation Manager operating system, which supports protocols such as SMB, NFS, and iSCSI.
