The Nothing Ear (a) is a true wireless headset built around 11 mm dynamic drivers with a ceramic diaphragm for audio reproduction. The closed acoustic system and in-ear design contribute to passive sound isolation, which can be customized using the three included sizes of silicone ear tips. For wireless connection, the earbuds utilize Bluetooth 5.3 and support the LDAC codec for streaming higher-resolution audio from compatible devices. The lightweight 4.8-gram construction of each earbud is intended for extended use.

These earbuds integrate Smart Adaptive Noise Cancellation to actively reduce ambient environmental sounds. A three-microphone array in each earbud works with a noise-canceling algorithm to improve voice clarity during calls. Total audio playback time is rated at up to 42.5 hours when using the charging case. A 10-minute fast charge feature is available for quick power replenishment. The earbuds are rated IP54 for dust and splash resistance, and user interaction is managed via touch-based controls on each stem.
