The ASUS ZenWiFi XD5 is a dual-band mesh Wi-Fi system based on the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard. This three-pack configuration provides a maximum combined Wi-Fi speed of 3000 Mbit/s, distributed as 2402 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band and 574 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band. The system covers up to 646.5 square meters and supports up to 1000 connected devices simultaneously. To maintain signal stability across the mesh network, the hardware utilizes internal antennas, beamforming technology, and MU-MIMO for efficient data distribution to multiple clients.

Each unit features two Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports for wired connectivity, including support for Ethernet WAN connections. Network security is managed through WPA3, WPA2, and WPA encryption standards, supplemented by a built-in firewall and parental controls. The system supports multiple VPN protocols, including OpenVPN, PPTP, and IPSec for both client and server applications. Management is handled via a web-based interface, incorporating Quality of Service (QoS) controls, DHCP server capabilities, and guest network access. These units are designed for desktop placement and operate using an external AC adapter.
