The ASUS ZenWiFi XD5 is a dual-band mesh Wi-Fi system utilizing the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard. It supports a maximum combined Wi-Fi speed of 3000 Mbit/s, providing up to 2402 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band and 574 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band. This three-node system covers up to 646.5 m² and utilizes MU-MIMO and beamforming technologies to optimize signal distribution. The design incorporates internal antennas and 1024QAM modulation to maintain consistent data throughput across the coverage area.

Wired connections are handled through one Gigabit Ethernet WAN port and one Gigabit Ethernet LAN port. For network protection, the system includes WPA3 security, a firewall, and parental controls featuring URL filtering. It supports VPN configurations for OpenVPN, PPTP, and IPSec protocols. The compact hardware measures 90 mm in width and 85 mm in height, supporting both desktop and wall-mounted placement. Each unit is powered by an included AC adapter and includes a physical reset button and WPS functionality.
