The QNAP QSW-IM3216-8S8T is a managed 16-port 10GbE Layer 2 switch designed for segmenting local area networks and handling high-bandwidth traffic. The 16 ports offer 10 Gbit/s speeds, divided between eight RJ-45 connections and eight SFP+ slots. With a 320 Gbit/s switching capacity, the unit manages data flow between servers, storage arrays, and network endpoints. This non-PoE model operates at Layer 2 and supports IP routing and static routes to direct traffic across multiple subnets, providing predictable connectivity in data-heavy environments.
The switch can be mounted in standard racks or on walls. It uses dual power supply units connected via a 6-pin terminal block, consuming up to 48.632 W at maximum load. Network operators can manage the switch through a web-based interface or an RJ-45 console port. Traffic management includes access control lists (ACLs), VLAN support, quality of service (QoS) protocols, and traffic classification. System maintenance is supported by event logging and a firmware-upgradeable design.
Key Features:- MAC address table with 16,000 entries for tracking devices across large subnets.
- Support for 9,000-byte jumbo frames to improve efficiency during bulk data storage operations.
- Integrated DHCP server for automatic IP address assignment within the local network.
- Loop protection and port mirroring to assist with network troubleshooting, traffic analysis, and diagnostics.
- IGMP snooping to manage multicast traffic and prevent peripheral connection overload.
