The ASUS ZenWiFi BD4 is a dual-band mesh system built on the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard. It utilizes 4096-QAM modulation to increase data density across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. The hardware incorporates MU-MIMO and beamforming technologies to manage signal efficiency between the three included units. This system is designed for desktop placement to facilitate wireless distribution across large residential or office environments.
Wired connectivity is provided by 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports that function as either WAN or LAN interfaces. Network protection is managed via AiProtection Pro, which includes a built-in firewall and URL filtering for secure data traffic. The mesh architecture supports Intelligent Mesh technology and AiMesh for network expansion and management. Users can configure VPN server and client functions through a web-based interface, supporting protocols such as WireGuard and OpenVPN.
