The ASUS RT-BE88U is a desktop Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) router. This dual-band device operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, offering transfer rates of up to 5764 Mbit/s and 1376 Mbit/s, respectively. It uses 4096-QAM and OFDMA modulation to manage traffic across connected devices. Four external antennas distribute the signal, while MU-MIMO support allows the router to communicate with multiple clients simultaneously without compromising individual connection speeds.

The router features nine RJ-45 Ethernet ports, supporting speeds of up to 10 Gigabit. It includes a dedicated Ethernet WAN port for connection to a modem or fibre ONT. Security features include WPA3-Personal and WPA3-Enterprise, a firewall, and DMZ support for managing network access.
