The MERCUSYS AC12 is a dual-band wireless router utilizing the Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) standard. It operates concurrently on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. The 2.4 GHz band provides transfer rates up to 300 Mbit/s for general connectivity and standard device tasks. High-throughput requirements, such as video streaming, are handled by the 5 GHz band, which supports maximum speeds of 867 Mbit/s.

Coverage across the service area is established using four fixed external antennas, each offering a maximum gain level of 5 dBi. Wired networking features one Ethernet WAN port and four Fast Ethernet LAN ports, which provide data transfer speeds up to 100 Mbit/s for connected devices. Internally, the device supports MIMO technology, including MU-MIMO capabilities, optimizing concurrent data delivery to multiple connected clients.

The system integrates standard security protocols, including WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK encryption, alongside a software firewall utilizing IP and MAC address binding. Network management tools include DHCP server functionality, support for Dynamic DNS (DDNS), and dedicated guest network access on both frequency bands. The router is configured via a standard web-based management interface and is ready for IPv6 protocol usage.
