The TP-Link Deco P9 is a dual-band hybrid mesh Wi-Fi system that provides coverage for up to 370 m². It uses the Wi-Fi 5 standard to deliver a maximum combined wireless speed of 1167 Mbit/s: 300 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band. The system incorporates powerline technology to transmit data through existing electrical wiring between mesh units. This hybrid backhaul helps maintain a stable connection when physical obstacles, such as thick walls, degrade standard wireless signals. The system supports up to 100 connected devices.

Each unit features two Gigabit Ethernet ports for wired connectivity or WAN input. Security is provided by WPA2-PSK encryption and an integrated firewall. Network management includes Quality of Service (QoS) and web-based administration tools. The system uses MU-MIMO and beamforming to improve data delivery to connected clients. Parental controls allow for user profiling and time-limited access. The units stand 190 mm tall and have a white finish.
