The StarTech.com AF221CE-POE-INJECTOR 2-Port Gigabit PoE+ Injector delivers power and data over a single copper cable. This device connects networking equipment, such as IP cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP phones, directly to a non-PoE switch. It is a wired device without Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity. The unit supports IEEE 802.3at and 802.3af protocols to supply power to compatible devices and supports Gigabit Ethernet speeds of up to 1000 Mbit/s.

The unit can be wall-mounted or placed on a desktop for installation in cabinets or office spaces. Housed in a lightweight black plastic casing, the injector uses a DC-in jack for its own power supply and provides 52 V to the connected hardware. Users can monitor operational status via the Power and PoE LED indicators. Connection is managed by auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDI-X features, which detect speeds and cable routing. An internal IC Plus IP802AR chipset manages traffic, with full-duplex support for simultaneous two-way data transmission. Wake-on-LAN functionality allows for the remote activation of connected devices across the local network.
