The TP-Link Deco E4 is a dual-band mesh Wi-Fi 5 system with a maximum combined wireless speed of 1167 Mbit/s. It uses MU-MIMO and beamforming to focus signals, providing up to 867 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band and 300 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band. Mesh technology allows multiple units to operate as a single network. The internal antennas are housed in a desktop-style enclosure finished in white and grey. Regular firmware updates are available to maintain system performance.
Each unit has two 10/100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet ports for wired networking or WAN connectivity, supporting Dynamic IP, Static IP, or PPPoE. Security features include WPA2-PSK encryption and an SPI firewall; management is handled via a web interface. Administrative controls include guest network access and IP address filtering. The system supports tagged VLAN and integrates with Amazon Alexa for voice control. It is powered by an external AC adapter and includes a reset button.
