The GARDENA AssistCut Battery-Assisted Secateurs are cordless pruning shears for cutting branches, young shoots and flowers. Unlike a hedge trimmer, they make individual bypass cuts while retaining the direct control associated with manual secateurs. Fresh wood and branches up to 25 mm thick can be cut, making the tool suitable for routine plant maintenance rather than trimming long hedge faces. The selective cutting format is intended for home gardeners who need accurate placement around shrubs and flowering plants.

The rechargeable lithium-ion battery is rated at 3.6 V and 2 Ah. A full recharge takes approximately 1.66 hours, providing a defined turnaround time between extended pruning sessions. Cordless operation removes the need to manage a mains lead around beds, shrubs and trees. The electrical system supplements hand pressure while retaining the familiar closing action of pruning shears.

Precision-ground stainless-steel blades use a bypass cutting system designed to produce clean cuts during plant maintenance. Ergonomic plastic handles provide two opening-width settings to accommodate different hand sizes. This adjustment changes the grip span, which can improve control during repeated cutting tasks. An integrated USB-C connection provides the charging interface.
