The Makita 500 mm 18V LXT Cordless Hedge Trimmer Body Only is a battery-powered tool for maintaining hedges, shrubs and other garden growth without a trailing cable. Its 500 mm cutting length, 20 mm tooth spacing and 20 mm maximum cutting thickness suit routine shaping and trimming. A brushless motor drives the reciprocating dual-action blades at up to 4,000 strokes per minute, supporting both light domestic gardening and more demanding maintenance work.

At approximately 2.9 kg including a battery, the trimmer is configured for controlled handling. Ergonomic front and rear handles provide two-handed support. The rear handle has a soft-grip surface, while vibration dampening helps limit discomfort during longer sessions. A secondary handle is also fitted for additional control.

This body-only version accepts removable, rechargeable Makita 18V LXT lithium-ion batteries. No battery or charger is supplied, so compatible components are required before use. A safety switch helps guard against unintended operation. The blade safety brake provides an additional control measure when cutting. An integrated battery protection system safeguards the electrical components during operation.
