The Sony WH-1000XM6 is a set of wireless, over-ear headphones designed for audio playback and voice calls. Inside the closed-back earcups are 30 mm dynamic drivers, which reproduce a frequency range from 4 Hz to 40,000 Hz. Connectivity is managed through Bluetooth 5.3, featuring multipoint support for pairing with two devices concurrently and compatibility with multiple codecs including LDAC and LC3. For situations requiring a physical connection, a 1.2 m detachable audio cable is also provided. The headband and vegan leather earpads are structured for long-term wear.

The active noise cancellation is managed by the integrated HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 to reduce ambient sound. For voice calls, a twelve-microphone array utilizes beamforming technology to focus on the speaker's voice. The internal battery supports up to 30 hours of playback with ANC active and can be fully recharged in 3.5 hours via the USB-C port.
