The Synology DiskStation DS118 is a compact, one-bay NAS for data management in home and small office environments. It features a single drive bay that supports 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or solid-state drives. A 1.4 GHz quad-core Realtek RTD1296 processor handles file management, while 1 GB of DDR4 RAM supports background processes and multiple concurrent users. The unit runs on DiskStation Manager (DSM), a web-based operating system for organizing files and automating backups. As a single-disk device, it does not support RAID configurations.
