The Braun BNT400B is a digital forehead thermometer. It features a dual-mode system, allowing for readings from a distance of up to 2.5 cm or through direct skin contact. The device has a clinical accuracy of ±0.2°C within a 34°C to 43°C range. Measurements take 2 seconds, which is useful when checking active patients. Age Precision technology adjusts the temperature interpretation based on the selected age, and results are displayed in °C.

The backlit LCD screen is easy to read at night. The device is operated using physical buttons, and a built-in buzzer signals when a measurement is complete. It runs on two AA batteries, which are included. An automatic shut-off feature helps conserve battery life when the thermometer is not in use.
