The Sharkoon A40 RGB is a single-tower CPU air cooler engineered to manage processors with a Thermal Design Power (TDP) rating up to 230 W. Heat dissipation relies on a configuration of four 6 mm copper heat pipes that extend from the contact base into the aluminum fin array. This structure is designed to transfer thermal energy efficiently, aiming for stable temperature control even during sustained high processing loads. The heat sink base utilizes copper, which interfaces directly with the CPU Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS).

Airflow for cooling the fin stack is managed by one 120 mm fan, which uses a Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) for consistent operation. The fan supports Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control, allowing the speed to dynamically adjust between 500 RPM and 1800 RPM. At maximum operational speed, the unit delivers 121.55 m³/h of air movement and generates a maximum noise output of 30 dB. Installation is supported across numerous platforms, including current Intel LGA 1700/1851 and AMD AM5 sockets, utilizing the included mounting accessories.
