The MikroTik ATL 5G R16 (ATLGM&RG520F-EU) is a cellular gateway designed for locations where wired internet infrastructure is unavailable. The unit uses 5G SA/NSA standards to provide cellular data to a local network at speeds of up to 2 Gbit/s. If 5G signal is unavailable, the device automatically switches to 4G LTE Cat20 or 3G. Unlike standard consumer routers, this unit functions strictly as a wired bridge and does not have built-in Wi-Fi; it must be connected to a separate switch or access point to distribute connectivity.

The router uses a directional design to capture mobile signals in rural or isolated areas. By focusing reception on a specific cell tower, the unit achieves a maximum antenna gain of 16 dBi. A single Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port handles data transmission. It is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE-in) at 12 to 56 volts and has a typical power draw of 10 watts, allowing for single-cable installation without the need for additional electrical wiring at the mounting site. All network management, firewall, and routing configurations are handled via the pre-installed RouterOS v7.
