The MicroConnect MC-M.2-A+E-I225 is an M.2 A+E 2.5G RJ45 Ethernet card based on the Intel I225 controller. It provides a direct, multi-gigabit wired connection for compatible desktop computers, supporting data transfer rates of up to 2500 Mbit/s. This offers faster speeds than standard Gigabit hardware and improves efficiency for large file transfers and heavy network traffic.
As this module is strictly for wired use, it omits Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. It is well-suited for environments where radio interference is a concern or security policies require a wired network. The card uses a PCI Express interface to connect to the host motherboard, ensuring a stable connection for sustained tasks, such as high-bitrate media streaming and small-scale server hosting.
