The Microconnect Mini PCIe 82583-D Dual-Port Gigabit Ethernet is an internal wired adapter for PCs and embedded devices. It installs directly into a Mini PCIe slot, making it suitable for hardware firewalls and compact appliances. Based on the Intel 82583V chipset, the board handles network traffic at data rates of up to 1000 Mbit/s. It relies exclusively on physical cabling and does not include Wi-Fi or Bluetooth capabilities. System integrators use this module to maintain secure, wired networking in environments where wireless transmission is not appropriate.

The adapter is compatible with Windows systems from XP to 10. Linux kernels from 2.6.x to 4.x and FreeBSD environments support the hardware natively.
