The Synology DS1825+ 8-bay NAS is a desktop unit designed to centralize data for home offices and small businesses. The system has eight drive bays for 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA drives. An AMD Ryzen V1500B quad-core processor (2.2 GHz) handles multi-user access and background tasks. The unit includes 8 GB of DDR4 ECC SODIMM memory to ensure data integrity during operation. Storage capacity can be scaled up to 360 TB using compatible expansion units. It runs the DSM operating system, which manages file storage and access control.

Two 2.5GbE RJ-45 ports provide data transfer speeds faster than standard gigabit connections. The device supports multiple RAID configurations, including Synology Hybrid RAID and RAID 6, to protect against hardware failure. Two 120 mm fans provide active cooling and keep noise to 23.8 dB. LED indicators on the front panel display the status of the system, network, and individual drive bays. Three USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports are available for connecting external peripherals or local backup drives. An external 250 W adapter powers the unit, which has a typical power consumption of 60.1 W.
