The STAEDTLER Mars micro mechanical pencil display is a set of graphite pencils for controlled writing and drawing. Each pencil uses a 0.5 mm lead, a fine size suited to small handwriting and ruled technical work. The supplied HB grade balances dark, readable marks with the firmness needed for sketching and drafting. A cushioned, break-resistant lead system helps limit snapping when pressure is applied. Its intended surface is paper, covering everyday notes as well as ruler-based layouts.

The cylindrical housing combines plastic and metal, with a rubber non-slip grip around the holding area. This shape sits conventionally in the hand, while the soft ergonomic section provides added purchase during longer sessions. A metal pocket clip attaches the pencil to a notebook or item of clothing. At the writing end, the metal lead sleeve retracts to reduce exposed metal when carried. The sleeve is also compatible with rulers and templates, allowing it to track against straight or shaped edges without a broad nose obstructing the guide.
