The DEWALT 18V XR Cordless Brushless Hedge Trimmer is a battery-powered tool intended for large hedges, shrubs and grounds maintenance. Its 600 mm cutting length and 25 mm tooth spacing provide coverage for longer hedge sections. The rated cutting capacity is 25 mm, allowing the blade to handle growth and branches up to that thickness. Cordless operation removes the working-range restriction of a mains cable.

A brushless motor drives the cutting mechanism without the contact brushes used in conventional motors. The dual-action reciprocating system moves the blade sections against each other during operation. Laser-cut hardened steel forms the blade and teeth, providing a defined cutting edge for repeated hedge maintenance. The mechanism operates at up to 1,600 strokes per minute.

A wraparound auxiliary handle accommodates several hand positions when changing cutting direction. Soft-grip areas provide a more secure contact surface during longer trimming sessions. The secondary handle supports two-handed control when working across hedge tops or along vertical faces. This grip arrangement also lets the operator adjust wrist position as the cutting orientation changes.
