The ASUS TUF-BE3600 is a tabletop router that supports the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard. It is a dual-band device operating on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. Peak transfer rates are 2882 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band and 688 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band. Four external antennas provide coverage, while 4096-QAM and OFDMA technologies improve data efficiency. The router is backward compatible with earlier standards, including 802.11ax and 802.11ac.

For wired connectivity, the device features one RJ-45 WAN port and five Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. A USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port supports networked file access and mobile internet failover. Security features include WPA3-Personal encryption, a built-in firewall, and guest network access. Management options include Quality of Service (QoS) controls for traffic prioritisation. The router also supports VPN client and server functionality using WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IPSec protocols.
