The Teltonika OTD500 is an outdoor 5G IoT router that functions as a gateway between Ethernet networks and cellular mobile networks. It provides internet connectivity via 5G, 4G LTE, and 3G through a built-in SIM slot. The device excludes Wi-Fi functionality, focusing instead on cellular-to-wired data routing. Two Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports handle local traffic at speeds of up to 1000 Mbit/s, with one port serving as an Ethernet WAN interface for failover or alternative hardware configurations. The device is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), using a single network cable to provide both data and power.

Designed for exposed environments, the router features a weatherproof plastic and polycarbonate enclosure. Its IP55 rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets. Network administrators can configure the system via a standard web-based interface. Traffic can be prioritized and segmented using native VLAN support and Quality of Service (QoS) controls. Security is handled by a built-in firewall and Network Address Translation (NAT), while an integrated DHCP server manages local IP assignments for downstream hardware. The unit has a typical power draw of 2.5 W.
