Garmin Forerunner 170 Sports Watch, Whitestone/Cloud Blue

The Garmin Forerunner 170 is a multisport smartwatch designed to track daily activity and support structured workouts. It uses a multi-GNSS receiver—supporting GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo—for accurate distance and pace tracking. Onboard algorithms calculate metrics like VO2 Max, training load, and recovery time to help you monitor your physical performance. For navigation, the device offers directional guidance and "TracBack" breadcrumb routing to help you find your way back to your starting point. It includes dedicated profiles for over 80 sports, such as running, cycling, and swimming, for activity-specific data. The watch automatically syncs sessions to the Garmin Connect platform, which also hosts adaptive training plans.

The unit features a 42.6 mm Whitestone fiber-reinforced polymer case, weighs 41 grams, and is 11.9 mm thick. It connects to iOS and Android smartphones via Bluetooth and ANT+ for accessory pairing and data transfer. Everyday features include automatic activity detection, a step counter, stress monitoring, and vibrating alerts. The watch displays notifications and call alerts from a paired mobile device. Note that the watch lacks a built-in microphone or speaker, so all calls must be handled through your phone. An integrated NFC chip supports Garmin Pay for contactless payments. With 4 GB of internal storage, the watch also allows you to control music playing on your paired smartphone.
