The Garmin Forerunner 70 GPS Running Watch (Citron) provides training and recovery insights for regular runners. Built-in multi-band GNSS with GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo support tracks pace and distance without requiring a smartphone. A wrist-based Garmin Elevate optical sensor monitors heart rate to provide fitness analytics. The watch tracks VO2 Max, training readiness, and recovery times to help assess physical fatigue. Beyond active workouts, the device monitors health through all-day pulse oximetry, HRV status, and continuous stress tracking. It also logs sleep with specific scores, stage breakdowns, and nap detection.

The 42.6 mm round case is made from fiber-reinforced polymer and weighs 40 g. A 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen, protected by chemically strengthened glass, is used for menu navigation and reviewing data during workouts. Multisport capabilities support various routines with over 80 built-in activity profiles, including cycling, pool swimming, and strength training. Connectivity features include course navigation via the Garmin Connect app on compatible iOS or Android smartphones. The watch delivers incoming calls, smart notifications, and vibration alerts to the wrist. Battery life lasts up to 13 days in standard mode and 23 hours with continuous GPS tracking.
