The Keychron K8 HE Special Edition is an 80% tenkeyless gaming keyboard. Instead of mechanical contacts, this model uses Gateron double-rail magnetic Hall-effect switches. A key feature is the adjustable actuation point, which users can set between 0.2 mm and 3.8 mm. Competitive players often use this to trigger inputs faster. A 1000 Hz polling rate minimises input delay, and hardware-level N-key rollover and anti-ghosting ensure that simultaneous key presses register accurately.

Connectivity options include 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.2, and a wired USB-C connection. The internal rechargeable battery lasts for up to 110 hours. The chassis is made from aluminium and features wood accents. Key remapping and macros are managed via QMK or the Keychron Launcher software. These settings are supported on Windows, macOS, and Linux. A wireless receiver and a detachable cable are included.
