The Synology RackStation RS3626xs is a 2U rackmount NAS designed for centralized data storage in small and medium-sized businesses. It uses an Intel Xeon D-1726 six-core processor with a base frequency of 2.9 GHz to handle multi-user workloads. Twelve hot-swappable drive bays support 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drives. Built-in 10 GbE networking provides high-speed data transfer through two RJ-45 ports. The system supports up to 864 TB of internal capacity and manages data redundancy through RAID levels including RAID 5, RAID 10, and Synology’s F1 configuration.

Two redundant power supply units keep the system running if a component fails. Internal cooling is managed by four 80 mm fans designed to regulate temperatures during intensive tasks. The unit includes 8 GB of DDR4 ECC UDIMM memory, which is expandable to 48 GB across six slots. Running on the DiskStation Manager platform, the system provides web-based administration and support for Btrfs and ext4 file systems. Security features include HTTPS, SSH, and Kerberos authentication, alongside access control lists for folder permissions. Connectivity for external devices is provided by two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. Integrated backup functions, such as snapshot replication, enable point-in-time recovery for business data.
