The Synology DiskStation DS223 is a 2-bay NAS desktop supplied with 32 TB of HAT53 hard drive storage, designed for home and small office environments. The device acts as a private cloud server to centralise file storage and data backups across multiple devices. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Realtek RTD1619B quad-core processor, supported by 2 GB of DDR4 memory for background services and concurrent tasks. The system runs on the DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, which provides a web-based interface for file management and system configuration.

The unit connects to the network via a single Gigabit Ethernet port supporting speeds of up to 1000 Mbit/s.
