The ICY BOX IB-RD3705-CU3 5-Bay SATA RAID Enclosure for 2.5/3.5-inch Drives is a storage accessory designed to house up to five hard drives or solid-state drives. It connects to a host computer via the USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, providing data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbit/s. Operation requires an external power adapter, as the unit does not draw current from the host USB bus. The enclosure is shipped without any storage drives installed. Connectivity uses a USB Type-B connector for direct wired host attachment.

The bays accept both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch form factors, provided the drives use a Serial ATA II interface. Installed drives can be configured in RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 3, or RAID 5 arrays to balance performance and data redundancy. An internal cooling fan manages heat dissipation during sustained operation. The black chassis measures 125 × 215 × 200 mm and weighs 2,910 g. Software compatibility covers Windows, macOS, and Linux environments. Front-facing reset and switch indicators provide status feedback for array management.
