The SUNLU PP Polypropylene 3D Printer Filament, Natural, 1.75 mm, 800 g is a spool of polypropylene designed for Fused Filament Fabrication and FDM 3D printers. Polypropylene is a lightweight engineering thermoplastic with a density of 900 kg/m³, making it up to 27% lighter than standard PLA while retaining mechanical utility. It achieves an elongation at break of up to 900% and an impact strength of 40 kJ/m², giving it high fatigue resistance for parts subjected to repeated bending or mechanical stress. The extruded material also resists many acids, alkalis, and solvents, making it suitable for functional prototypes, kitchen components, and lightweight industrial models. It is manufactured to a diameter tolerance of ±0.03 mm to ensure consistent feeding through the extruder.
Printing this polypropylene requires a nozzle temperature between 210 and 230 °C, with a recommended baseline of 220 °C. A heated build plate set to 50–60 °C helps manage bed adhesion during the print. Users can achieve print speeds of up to 100 mm/s, provided the printer is properly configured for 1.75 mm PP filament. The spool contains 385 metres of material and has an 800 g net weight, with a recommended operating relative humidity of under 20% to maintain filament integrity. Measured tensile strength is 22,700 kPa and flexural strength reaches 24 MPa, defining its structural limits for engineering applications.
