TerraMaster D2-320 - External Direct Attached Storage Enclosure, Black

The TERRAMASTER D2-320 is a two-bay desktop Direct Attached Storage enclosure that adds external drive capacity to a computer or compatible host over a USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection. It accepts 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA hard disk drives, as well as 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drives, with a total storage capacity of up to 44 TB across both bays. The enclosure offers three storage configurations: RAID 0 for striping and improved read/write performance, RAID 1 for mirrored redundancy, and JBOD for combining the drives without a RAID layer. No storage drives are included; the bays arrive empty and ready for user-installed media. As a DAS rather than a network-attached device, the enclosure has no Ethernet connectivity and operates as a locally attached peripheral that the host operating system sees as standard block storage.

Drive installation is tool-free, and the enclosure supports the NTFS, APFS, FAT32, exFAT, and EXT4 file systems, making it usable with Windows 8 through Windows 11, macOS, and Linux. An 80 mm speed-regulated fan manages drive temperatures while keeping the stated noise level at 23.8 dB. The unit draws 19.4 W in typical operation from an external 40 W power adapter. Backup functionality is provided through TPC Backupper, which supports both incremental and differential backup routines. The chassis weighs 1.3 kg and measures 119 × 222 × 154 mm, finished in black with an external power supply. SMART support is not available, and there is no web-based management interface, given the direct-attached nature of the device.
