The TerraMaster U4-500 4-Bay 1U Rackmount NAS File Server provides centralised storage and data protection for business environments. It ships without drives, allowing configuration with up to four 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA devices for a maximum capacity of 96 TB. A six-core Intel Core i3 processor with a 4.4 GHz boost frequency and 8 GB of DDR5 memory handles compute tasks. Dual 10GbE RJ45 ports support link aggregation to manage heavy network loads. The platform accommodates up to 2,048 user accounts and 500 concurrent connections. RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10 are available for flexible redundancy management.

The 1U chassis uses active cooling with three 40 mm fans, producing a noise level of 34.5 dB while drawing 40.2 W from a 120 W supply. An HDMI 2.0 port and three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports offer local peripheral connectivity. TerraMaster TOS provides web-based management and supports Windows, macOS, and Linux environments via CIFS/SMB, NFS, and iSCSI protocols. Built-in utilities include snapshot technology, Rsync, and Time Machine for straightforward data backups. Access is protected by AES encryption, a firewall, and automatic IP blocking.
