The RAINPOINT HCS008FRF Digital Water Flow Meter is designed for monitoring water consumption in garden irrigation systems connected to a standard tap or hose. It measures water flow in real time and shows usage information on an integrated LCD display. The unit supports standard residential water pressure, making it suitable for routine outdoor watering. Its primary function is to provide a precise reading of water volume passing through the line, allowing homeowners and gardeners to track how much water goes to plants, lawns, and other irrigation applications.

Usage data can be reviewed by hour, day, or month through the RainPoint mobile app when the meter is linked to a compatible RainPoint hub over a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. This smart connectivity requires the separate hub, which is not bundled with the meter. The device has an IPX6 water-resistance rating and can withstand direct spray and rain during outdoor operation.
